Information about the group
The Carbohydrate Chemistry Group (FQM-208 HIDRATOS DE CARBONO: SINTESIS, REACTIVIDAD Y DISEÑO TEÓRICO) from Dept of Organic Chemistry was constituted in 1988 at University of Granada (Spain) and it is a member of Instituto de Biotecnología.
Our research is focused on basic problems of synthetic chemistry of carbohydrates and their applications in biotechnology. We are open to scientific collaborations and commercial partnerships as well as to students willing to join our group. Current research topics are:
- Glycopyranosyl isothiocyanates: Synthesis and applications
- Cyclic sulfates sugars: Synthesis, Reactivity and Applications
- Neoglycoconjugates: Synthesis from propargyl glycosides
- Cyclodextrins: Chemical Modifications. Synthesis of glyco-cyclodextrins
- Calixarenes: Chemical modifications. Synthesis of calix-sugars, calix-crowns and multicalixarenes
- 1,3-dipolar cycloadditions between azido- and propargyl moieties related with carbohydrates and neoglycoconjugates
